MIAK - Venezuela Blend Coffee
Venezuela · Mérida · Triángulo de los Mocotíes
82 SCA · Community lot · Washed · ~1,700 masl · Harvest 2025/26
In Nawat Pipil, miak means "many". This coffee isn't the work of one farm but of many: small growers from the Mocotíes Valley, pooling their harvests into one generous, chocolate-forward cup.
Tasting profile
The growers
miak comes from the Asociación El Triángulo de los Mocotíes, a group of smallholder farmers in the state of Mérida. Their farms grow Caturra, Catuai, Monte Claro and Villa Nueva, and the association brings their washed coffees together into a single lot. Buying it means supporting many households across the valley, not just one estate.
The place
The Mocotíes Valley is a long, narrow valley in the Venezuelan Andes, shaped by the river of the same name and draining toward Lake Maracaibo. Its mountain microclimate has supported high-altitude coffee since colonial times, and its farms sit at around 1,700 metres.
In the cup
Comforting and sweet. Dark chocolate and cacao lead, with caramel and honey in the middle, then almond, dried fruit and a gentle touch of spice.
